Personal Assistant

To assist with personal care, cooking, feeding, driving and other aspects of daily life., Although this job description is correct at present, it may change from time to time after
negotiation with the post holder.

• Morning routine - assist with district nurse with personal care.


• Completing washing, dressing and transfer to wheelchair.


• Preparation of meals and feeding.


• Driving to and assisting with appointments.


• Completing laundry


• Dispensing and recording medication.


• Acting as a pair of hands.


• Night transfer to bed, waking night shift for drinks/assistance as needed.


• Will need to be happy to drive a large W/C accessible van.
  
  Essential Criteria Desirable Criteria


• Clean Full UK driving licence

(Automatic or Manual)

• Over 21 years old Cooking ability

(for insurance purposes)
• Care qualifications


• Good communication in English Manual handing


• Good hygiene Good organisational skills


• Physically able to support me.


• Previous experience in care work,

medication and MAR charts

Constant care cover is needed, various shifts are available: 8am - 8pm,
8am - 1pm, 8pm - 8am and 8am - 6 pm.
Times of work

• There is some flexibility around these times, to be discussed at the point

of interview.
Annual leave The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the
work which would normally be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks
A satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is
required for this position.
Background
Checks If successful, you will be required to provide details of two referees, one of
which must be your current or most recent employer, or character
references if you have not been employed.
Pension I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory
obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
Trial Period This post is subject to a probationary period of 3 months.
