Full Job Description

This post is temporary to cover maternity leave, which will be discussed further at interview. We are looking for someone to help with the care of my husband who has motor neurone disease and due to his lack of mobility requires support with every aspect of day to day life. We are a family with teenagers and require someone who is friendly, kind and willing to learn. We can offer a happy and relaxed work environment along with a degree of flexibility. Please note this is a smoking household. A DBS check will be required and applicants must be a car driver and owner with business insurance. 37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri 8am to 3pm (days and times are flexible and can be discussed at interview)., Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting,
showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed
- Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks
- Assist with household chores and general homemaking
- Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship

Be honest, reliable, trustworthy, empathetic and punctual
- Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy, including the prohibited use of social
media in relation to the job role
- Work on own initiative
- Work as part of a team
- Follow instructions accurately
- Be patient, supportive, caring and empathetic
- Have good listening skills and be able to provide non-judgemental emotional -
support
- Previous caring experience is essential
