Full Job Description

A kind and patient personal assistant is needed to support a lovely and well-behaved 17-year-old young lady with disabilities, living in St Agnes.

This role is for school holidays only, offering 15 hours per week with highly flexible scheduling.

The young lady has some hearing loss, is registered blind, and uses a white cane. Due to her needs, she requires supervision to ensure her safety and cannot be left alone. She is sociable, enjoys good conversation, and is looking for someone to provide both companionship and support for her growing independence-whether it's having a coffee in the village or engaging in other activities.

She has a wonderful personality, a great sense of humour, and is an absolute pleasure to be around. She is an accomplished chess player, enjoys indoor rock climbing, and loves spending time outdoors.

Pay starts at £12.50 per hour, with potential for increase based on skills and experience.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on a young person's life, supporting her growth and independence.

Some experience or knowledge of working with young people is desirable.

A driving licence and access to transport are desirable, with a mileage allowance payable.

The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check, the administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
