Full Job Description

Support a young individual to maintain relationships, community access and personal care.

Preferred days: During School time - one evening per week for 6 hours, flexible and 6 hours on either a Sat or Sun, can be flexible.
30hrs during school holidays are flexible.
Potential for hours to be split between 2 or more PA's.

Respite support hours are 38 nights per year. Will be 3 nights per month, opportunity to save this to enable client's parents to have a 7 night break away. PA to stay in the family home.

Tasks/duties: Community access, maintaining safety, maintaining relationships, personal care, being appropriately clothed and supporting to use the toilet, domestic tasks and nutrition.

PA will require a full clean driving licence with business insurance for own vehicle. Client will pay mileage.

Client's interests: Young person likes to take part in community activities including trips out to the space centre, bowling or a pub lunch etc. Client should be encouraged to try new activities and most importantly is engaged and having fun. You will need to think creatively to plan activities.

Client main diagnosis: ASD and severe learning disabilities. Needs to be kept safe.

Communication: Client has a communication book with symbols and PECS, which is a preferred communication method. Client does know single words, but cannot hold a full conversation, but is able to point out needs and label meaningful objects.

Moving and handling: Client requires support getting in/out of the shower. Shower room has been adapted.
