Personal Assistant / Childrens Support Worker

About the Job:

You will be required to provide support to my active 12-year-old son. He enjoys travelling on the bus and the train, playing with his bike and scooter, swimming and having fun.
The hours of work will be at the weekend and school holidays. I may choose to bank the hours to allow for longer periods of support on some occasions.
Responsible to the mother of the Direct Payment recipient.

Main Tasks:

Support him out in the community.
To help with toileting and undressing/dressing before/after swimming
Accompany him on public transport.
Play an active part in suitable play and fun activities.
To be observant and always ensure his safety, he can run away from you so you would need to be able to keep up with him.

You will need to be reliable and punctual.
Flexibility based on how the hours are worked is required and will be arranged in advance.
You must always adhere to safe working practices and to health and safety guidance.
You will need to show a good understanding of the conditions that he has, these include ADHD, learning disability and ASD.
You will need to have access to a vehicle and have a full UK driving licence, with evidence of the policy including Class 1 business use.
A mileage allowance will be paid to you for any fuel cost accrued whilst carrying out the duties of your role.
