Full Job Description

An individual living in Countesthorpe requires support from a self-employed Personal Assistant. Role Requirements You will be required to provide support with:

  • breakfast prep
  • light domestic tasks
  • laundry
  • medication prompts, and
  • short walks, if time allows.
  • One hour of support is required Monday to Friday 9.00am-10.00am. The remaining 6 hours will be used flexibly to provide a sitting service or to take the client out into the community. Please note, 3 of these hours will be used flexibly to support the client and his wife with accessing the community together. This would potentially be supporting them to attend swimming together or attending a social group in the next village. The client will be receiving a Motability car mid-October that can be used for transport. Anything else you need to know: The client has hydrocephalus - an accumulation of fluid in the brain. This causes slurred speech, muscle weakness of the left arm and leg, mobility difficulties therefore he uses a wheelchair for all journeys, short-term memory difficulties, and visual impairment. The client can communicate verbally. He requires assistance with toileting and uses a urine bottle. The client enjoys accessing the community regularly. He likes to go to local parks, etc. in his wheelchair with support. There are three small dogs at the property, one is noisy at the door but settles quickly, and all three are friendly. This opportunity is suitable for someone who is reliable, patient, and proactive.
