Full Job Description

I am an Asian - Pakistani woman and I live in my own home along with my family. I am looking to recruit 1 personal assistant; I would like to have a personal assistant to assist with my daily needs. Due to the nature of my illness I am no longer able to complete some of my personal care and need two personal assistants to assist me. My bed is down stairs and I spend most of the day there and require the personal assistants to come in 4 times a day. The time I am looking for is 8am for 30minutes, 12noon for 15minutes again at 4pm and 8pm for 30minutes seven days per week. I am quite happy to split the hours to Monday to Friday and weekend care. We can discuss this at the interview.

There are some additional hours for light domestic tasks. As my personal assistant your job will entail personal care (double up) and meal assistance. I will be responsible for organising the assistance I require, so I am hoping to employ PA's who will support me to maintain my independence in my home and in the future in the community. Due to the intimate nature of some of the help I require, I would prefer that my assistance is given by a woman who must be reliable, sensitive, supportive, patient, good sense of humour, sensible in a crisis, use their own initiative, be punctual and maintain my safety at all times. My personal assistant must be able to handle the physical skills of lifting, pushing, and bending specialist equipment is provided. You do not have to be physically strong to do this but it does help, as does good general health. Any training issues will be discussed with the successful applicant(s), depending on their skills and
experience. Contingency plans have to be arranged by myself therefore in the event of annual leave or sickness periods PA's may be asked to provide cover for absent colleagues.

Personal Tasks Assisting me with my morning routine washing drying dressing etc. Going to the toilet Transport to medical appointments when required Assisting me to transfer in and out of my wheelchair using a turn stile Ensuring that I am comfortable in my surroundings and to ensure the safety of the individual at all times. Support with night time routine getting ready for bed etc. Using any disability equipment (training will be provided if required) a Preparation of drinks and snacks throughout the day.

You have a responsibility as an Employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You must record all details in the accident book. You have a duty to report defects and /or hazards which may give rise to an accident Required qualities and conditions: Good health/fit (able to lift/push wheelchair if needed). Non Smoker. Able to work flexibly. Able to follow instructions accurately from employer. Reliable, trustworthy with a good sense of humour. Patience and empathy. Prepared to accept specific training.
