Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Personal Assistant to provide proactive and comprehensive support to Senior Legal Directors at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

About the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)

We help people, businesses, and the UK economy by promoting competitive markets and tackling unfair behaviour. Our work is wide ranging, ambitious and often new and challenging.

What you will do

As part of our Legal Service, you will provide administrative support to two Senior Legal Directors. This will involve managing their inboxes, travel arrangements and diaries, helping to manage and prioritise the Senior Directors' time effectively.

You will also provide general support to the wider Legal Service teams, including:

  • Raising purchase orders, ensuring they are authorised efficiently and logged correctly in the invoice database

  • Maintaining systems and processes within the Litigation Unit

  • Planning, arranging and supporting meetings

  • Coordinating and printing information and meeting papers

  • Maintaining a calendar of key events for the Litigation team

  • Researching and gathering information for key stakeholders

Are you a skilled and flexible administrator, looking to develop your skills and experience in a fast-paced environment?, You will be capable of using organisational systems and procedures for document management and will demonstrate an understanding of the risks associated with the improper use, handling and disclosure of confidential information.

  • Along with excellent communication skills, you will be able to work collegiately and flexibly as part of a diverse team, as well as independently. You will also need experience of working within tight timeframes, along with the ability to prioritise a busy work schedule.

A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages is essential, particularly Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and Excel. You will also demonstrate a strong knowledge of raising Purchase Orders.

In return the CMA is a hugely diverse, rewarding and stimulating place to work - an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so. We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee assistance programme and flexible working options.
