Interested in working in social care? Read on to find out how you can get involved. About the Employer I am elderly gentleman in use of a wheelchair, my physical disability is Cerebral Palsy. I love a good chat about everyday life. My life style is out going and creating an happy environment. I enjoy classical music and good foods, and I also enjoy going to the symphony hall when I get a chance. I am an out going person even though I am in a wheelchair, but I also love my home environment which must be kept clean and tidy. Evening duties will include assisting out of chair undressing and assisting into bed, personal care and tidying kitchen area occasionally mopping of floors. Covering annual leave, duties, to be discussed. Previsious care experience and experience of using a hoist would be an advantage, although not essential. Employer Disability and Health Conditions

  • About the Role Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
  • Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
  • Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
  • The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required. You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

  • Be honest, reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy, including the prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role.
  • Be patient, supportive and caring.
  • Previous caring experience is not essential, however you should have a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.
