Full Job Description
I am the employer and also the service user accessing the direct payment to access care and support within my home. I reside at home with my wife who is also in ill health and have good family network around me. I am seeking 1 PA to join my team for overnight support 2-3 nights per week( 7pm - 8am) 1hr break. The role will entail evening routines and support when required during the night, offering companionship. The PA will be an integral part of my family and team providing my care and as such would be beneficial if they were able to speak Punjabi, to better help with communication KNOW THE HEIMICH MANEUVER UNDERSTANDING OF A DEMENTIA PATIENT Employer Disability and Health Conditions
- Cognitive / Learning Mental Health Invisible I have a diagnosis of Dementia which impacts on my memory and ability to manage day to day tasks without prompt and support. The employer's hobbies and interests:
- Board games/activities to stimulate my brain going for walks Other relevant information About the Role Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
- Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
- Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
- Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship. Due to the following requirements of the role, only candidates aged 18 or over should apply for this position:
- You will be required to administer medication.
- Shifts may start before and or after 10pm The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required. You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
- Be honest, reliable, trustworthy and punctual. Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy, including the prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role.

- Have a lively personality. Good knowledge of Dementia and the associated traits which may affect my abilities and behaviour. It is essential any candidates will be understanding of my cultural needs and would be preferable if they were able to communicate in Punjabi or Hindi.
