Full Job Description
I'm Danny a 21-year-old young lad with cerebral palsy, affecting all four limbs. My trusty powered wheelchair is my mobility companion.
What I am Looking For:
I am assembling a fantastic team of PAs /carers to support me on a flexible part-time basis. If you are enthusiastic about making a positive impact, read on!
Your Role:
As part of my team, you will assist me with one or more of the following:
Volunteering with Coder Dojo: Join me on Saturday mornings or afternoons as we support young people to explore the exciting world of coding and digital making!
Music Festivals and Live Events: Be my companion at music festivals and live events throughout the year.
Activity Breaks at Calvert Trust Keswick: Dive into adventure! We will head to Calvert Trust Keswick for activity breaks, enjoying activities like rock climbing, canoeing, archery, and hydrotherapy. Typically, one to two times a year where my personal budget allows.
Hydrotherapy Sessions: Participate in hydrotherapy sessions to help improve physical well-being and relaxation through water-based exercises. As and when I have the ability to book.
Day to day personal care
My dream team members would hold or can obtain A satisfactory DBS enhanced check and would have at least one of the following interests or qualities:
Have an interest in computer programming, gaming, or digital making.
Love the vibe of music festivals and other live events.
Be ready and able to participate in, support with and enjoy activities offered at Calvert Trust in Keswick
Ability to support with moving and handling and personal care.
Ability to support with swimming/hydrotherapy.
While I welcome all applicants, candidates will be selected based on their skills, personality and suitability for the role
I also plan to use slack to manage my team so experience using this app: would be advantageous
Training and Support: Do not worry if you are new to this! I will provide informal training and guidance as needed. Care experience is desirable but not essential.
Hours: 3-12 hours a month over 1-3 Saturdays a month for my programming volunteering. Other hours will be flexible as and when needed. Up to a maximum of 100 hours per month shared across the team
Rate: £13.02 per hour
