Full Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities National Police Training for Police Officers and Police Staff. Design, develop and deliver training programmes for Public and Personal Safety Training in accordance with the College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice and the National Police Chief's Council manuals. Deliver initial training for new Police Officers and Police Staff. Deliver refresher training for Police Officers and Police Staff. Deliver First Aid training to Officers and Staff that is set out by ATACC. Facilitate the Job Related Fitness Test for all Officers and other Specialist Roles in the Force. To consistently monitor the delivery of learning to achieve the required level of knowledge, skills and behaviours and where necessary to identify, challenge and influence to ensure Officers and Staff adjust their behaviours. To support and manage learning and assessment activities to ensure the achievement of accredited packages e.g. College of Policing programmes, produce lesson plans (as directed) which are to Force standard, reflect National Occupational standards and are regularly updated. Respond to any problems being experienced by the individual learner and assist in identifying the cause and agreeing a suitable way forward, acting at all times in accordance with force policy. Maintain and up date relevant paperwork on the Force systems. To recognise, supervise and challenge inappropriate behaviour displayed in the training environment in a professional manner to ensure that Force standards of behaviour are maintained. Establish effective networks with key internal and external partners to implement collaborative approaches to learning and development. Maintains professional competence and practice to be able to deliver several L&D topics using varied learning styles and to obtain technical subject matter knowledge where required to maintain training standards across the force. It is essential that the post holder has a sound operational background within a policing environment together with a good knowledge of law and procedure. The post holder will be required to pass a role related fitness test and it is essential that they maintain the required standard during the period of posting. The role requires up-to-date knowledge of Public and Personal Safety Training. The post holder must be willing to test, evaluate and make recommendations about specialist equipment in order to support the effective deployment of operational staff and officers in identified roles. The post holder may be required to provide professional advice and expert opinion to the Force. The post holder is required to assist the department with the monitoring of kit and equipment that the team are responsible for ensuring it is fit for purpose and managed effectively.

The job holder will be required to undertake weekend working (1 weekend in 4). Unsocial hours will be paid as applicable. To pass the JRFT fitness level of 5.4 prior to offer of employment and to continue to pass at this level on an annual basis. CPD - To ensure their own CPD (continuous professional development) is kept up-to-date and recorded. Travel - Individuals must be prepared to occasionally travel across Surrey & Sussex (which can be claimed) The post holder must be willing to undertake specialist courses to meet the demands of the department and Force, as deemed appropriate by the department head.Why Work With Us?
