Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to the current post holder being promoted to a secondment opportunity as Assistant Chief Nursing Officer for Cancer Services, to cover maternity leave.

The Personalised Care and Support (PCS) Lead for Cancer plays a vital role in ensuring care provided to patients with cancer meets their individual needs.

You'll be joining a team who are dedicated to quality care for all patients. You'll oversee a programme of work which supports 12 cancer speciality teams to deliver our organisations' Personalised Care and Support strategy, which reflects the SWAG Cancer Alliance Personalised Care and Support strategy and ambitions for cancer outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan., Supporting the alignment of the delivery of PCS Strategy and underpinning programme, projects and initiatives to the strategic objectives of the Trust.

Informing the Trust's approach to PCS, based on own experience gained through leading the work.

Building capability across the organisation by coaching and training cancer services colleagues across North Bristol NHS Trust in PCS service improvement and transformation methodologies.

Line manage and professionally support the Remote Monitoring Project Manager, Cancer Coordinator, and PCS Project Support Manager.

Tackling health inequalities is a big focus at NBT. The successful candidate will consider health inequalities in all aspects of their work, working with the Assistant Chief Nursing Offer for Cancer Services and various others working in this space to seek opportunities to better serve under-served members of our local population. There will be opportunity to gain oversight of all work already occurring in this space in relation to cancer, which will help inform the work you.

We are also committed to sharing learning beyond the organisation, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build relationships across the BNSSG ICS and SWAG Cancer Alliance region to support mutual learning and system development.
