Full Job Description
+ Promote Physical Activity: Help engage some of our children and young people in gentle physical activities, such as walking, playing or simply by stroking your dog.
+ Pre Certification - all our PAT dogs must be be fully certified and registered by Pets as Therapy. More details can be found on their website www.petsastherapy.org

+ Strong observational skills to monitor your dogs behavior, so we can maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
+ Friendly with good communication skills
+ Excellent understanding of basic animal behavior and needs.
+ Able to maintain confidentiality.
+ Must be able to provide a regular weekly commitment.

Time Commitment:
A couple of hours per weekend - times/days to be agreed at interview
Training Requirements:
Full site induction & mandatory annual training will be provided

Lunch & Travel allowance (minimum hours required per shift)
Age Restrictions:
Volunteers must be aged 18yrs plus

Derian House Children's Hospice
At Derian House we help children and young people, whose lives are too short, to make happy memories in an environment of fun, respect and above all, high quality care.
We provide respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 children and young people across the North West. We do this 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We never close to those who need us.
Our ethos is to make sure that every child and young person who comes to Derian is able to make the very most of the time they have.
