Full Job Description

This role is open to current University of Leeds Postgraduate Research students only
The role is fixed for one year, with flexible hours depending on the committee's work, with a minimum of 2 hours in any given month although some months may be busier than others.
Interviews are expected to be held 21 and 22 November 2024
This role will be based on the University campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you a postgraduate research student at the University of Leeds? Are you passionate about enhancing the experience and support available for PGRs from underrepresented groups in Leeds? Would you like to use your knowledge and experience to improve the lives of PGRs from underrepresented groups while gaining some professional experience?
The University of Leed's PGR Diversity Team based in Educational Engagement is dedicated to designing and implementing a range of programmes and activities aimed at supporting PGRs from underrepresented groups to succeed. The team works with the Doctoral College, Student Union and other stakeholders across the university to deliver programmes and events that meet the needs of underrepresented PGRs.
As a PGR Diversity Steering Committee Member, you will be helping to embed student needs and interests into the work of the PGR Diversity Team by serving as a liaison between the team and underrepresented PGRs in Leeds.
In this role, you will work closely with other members of the committee and the PGR Diversity Team to deliver agreed retention and progression events. As such, you should possess strong communication, negotiation, advocacy and organisational skills.
