Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an assistant to join our pharmacy procurement team responsible for the purchasing of medicines for the Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust., A good general understanding of IT systems is essential as the majority of our ordering systems are electronic. You will also be expected to be able to update excel spreadsheets and competently interact with other Microsoft applications.
You will be involved in the day to day ordering of medicines, liaising with wholesalers and suppliers to ensure medicines are available for clinical teams.

+ To support the use of ward automation systems in the control of stock held at ward level.
+ To ensure that data entry into pharmacy computer systems is accurate and timely.
+ To process orders for medicines under the terms of the site Wholesale dealers license in accordance with relevant SOPs.
+ To carry out general stock management duties in all areas of the pharmacy including receipt of goods, transfers, stock counts, stock rotation and investigation of stock discrepancies when necessary.
+ To undertake relevant training as required.

This role is part of the integrated health and social care community across Derbyshire, where there are many opportunities to work across different locations and providers developing new and different skills. Whilst this role is initially based in Chesterfield there may be future opportunities to be based at different locations within the health and social care community which we may talk to you about in the future.

The procurement team mange the ordering of over £20 million worth of medicines each year, so we are looking for someone with the right skills and attention to detail. We are looking for an excellent team player who is hardworking and enthusiastic to participate in and support the provision of our services.
This is a fixed term post however the opportunity to gain experience in this interesting area would be invaluable for CVs or future opportunities within the department.
