Full Job Description

The Pharmacy Department undertakes the ordering, receipt and supply of medicines to all wards and departments throughout the Trust and also to many external customers. This includes dispensing for inpatients, outpatients and discharge medication and also ward stocks averaging around 2,500 items a day. There is also a large Preparative Services Unit manufacturing and/or supplying chemotherapy and radiopharmaceuticals and associated Quality Assurance laboratories.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Invoicing Officer to join our team providing support for the busy Pharmacy Department.

The successful candidate will be required to process invoices from pharmaceutical suppliers, including logging the receipt and electronic dispensing of homecare medicines, using a computerised purchasing and stock control system and querying discrepancies. This service is vital to ensure that all medicine invoices are paid on time., The Pharmacy Invoicing team are responsible for processing around 3000 invoices a month, which makes up nearly half of all invoices processed within the Trust. Accuracy and methodical working is essential to the role.

This is a busy and exciting post and the post holder will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills and be willing to undertake further training. Experience of working in a pharmacy or health care setting would be advantageous.

The post is for full-time hours (37.5 hrs/wk) although part time working will be considered. Hours will be worked Monday to Friday with a requirement to work 1 in 10 weekends with corresponding time off during the week.
