Full Job Description

It is an exciting time for Pharmacy Technical Services across North Wales. Following recent investment in Pharmacy technical services an exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic, motivated individuals to join our friendly production team at Wrexham Maelor Hospital and support the development and introduction of an outpatient antibiotic treatment service (OPAT). This service will be a first for Wales and will involve aseptic production of antibiotic infusions utilising modern technology and automated filling devices. We are looking for individuals who will contribute to and work well within our existing team and help to develop and introduce the OPAT service and demonstrate its value in enabling patients to be discharged from hospital sooner and be treated at home. This initiative will have significant benefits for patients and it is envisaged that support for further service development and increasing the range of medicines supplied in this way will be achieved. You
must be able to work to a high standard, follow written instructions and procedures, have good organisational and communication skills, an eye for detail, good accuracy skills and ability to use your own initiative whilst working to time schedules and under pressure., To Aseptically prepare and distribute injectable medicines in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and other national/regional guidelines in a timely manner.
To assist others in the provision of aseptic services, including the preparation of aseptically manufactured batch products and products for individual patient need.
To competently work in a cleanroom environment including grade A positive and negative isolators and laminar flow cabinets.
To prepare batches of non-sterile Pharmaceutical products.
To participate in the training and development of new members of staff
To competently use the pharmacy and other computer systems in order to carry out all tasks in an accurate and efficient manner.
Actively participate in the ordering of raw materials and sundry items ensuring adequate stocks.
Implement and follow all departmental procedures.
