Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, well motivated qualified Pharmacy Technician(or a Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician due to qualify soon) to join our friendly, progressive, Pharmacy Team.

You will need to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, be very well organised and able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The Pharmacy department provides a progressive pharmacy service making it a highly rewarding working environment.

You will also gain experience from working in our busy Technical Services department preparing chemotherapy, intravenous and TPN preparations.

The successful candidate will be based mainly at Pinderfields Hospital, the largest of our three hospital sites, but will also be required to work across the Trust at Pontefract Hospital and Dewsbury and District Hospital.

This is a part time post working 30 hours per week. Posts involve working some weekends and bank holidays as part of the departmental rota., Duties include dispensing for in-patients including clinical trials and controlled drugs in the dispensary and delivering a high-quality ward-based medicines management service to a multitude of areas throughout the Trust.

Preparation of non-sterile medicinal products for specific patients e.g., suspensions, creams, ointments, powders etc.

Preparation of sterile medicinal products for specific patients in a laminar flow cabinet / isolator in a controlled clean room environment e.g., parenteral nutrition and chemotherapy treatments.
