Full Job Description

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician to join the Forward Thinking Birmingham (FTB) Pharmacy Team. FTB pharmacy services are undergoing an exciting period of change. We are looking for someone to be part of the transformation in how these services are delivered to our patients and colleagues with an increase in the patient facing element of the service and expand our involvement on site at our hubs. Working collaboratively with the mental health teams, our joint aim is to develop the FTB services to further benefit our patients, who often have complex care needs. The FTB pharmacy team is responsible for providing medicines to all FTB hubs and ensuring that medicines management practice is in line with trust policies. We currently manage and oversee pharmacy provision for Early Intervention, Home Treatment and Urgent Care and the Community Mental Health Teams. The post holder will be based at the Birmingham Children's Hospital site but will be expected to visit the FTB hubs situated around the Birmingham area providing medication reviews, counselling and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings.   • To work as a PharmacyTechnician within the multidisciplinary team providing technical support to Forward Thinking Birmingham Services and Parkview Clinic.
  • Participate in the labelling and dispensing of medication.
  • Participate in ward and clinic visits, undertaking medicines management activities.
  • To participate in patient medication counselling.
  • To support the training of students and trainees.
  • To support stock control management.
  • To support service improvement initiatives.
