Full Job Description

We areseekingaskilled andmotivatedPharmacy Technicianto beactively involved in medicines management servicefora new Mersey Care Mood Clinic (MCMC), funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

Acting as the dedicated technician for clinical trials within the MCMC,the post holder will provideappropriateandtimelyresponses to medicines-related enquiries,providing relevant information asrequiredto staff, service users and carers.

Carryingout pharmaceutical technical duties and working closely withmedicalandnursingstaffand in collaboration witha vibrant research and delivery team,the post holder willensurethe safety, efficiency and quality ofallclinical trials conducted within theservice.The post holder willbe expected to work flexibly in line with the hours of operation.

Keyresponsibilitieswill include:

1. Acting as dedicatedmedicines managementtechnical support for MCMC,providingclinical and pharmaceutical informationtopharmacy staff, healthcare professionals, service users and carers.

1. Dispensingandmaintainingthe security ofmedication. Counselling service users and carerson dosage and use of medication. Acting as a finalprescriptionaccuracy checkerincluding discharge, self-medication,supply of compliance aids and patientinformation leaflets.Maintaining medicines information databasestosupportuse of unlicenced medicines within the trust.

1. Supportingthe lead clinical trials pharmacistindevelopingand implementingclinical trialsaccordingtogood clinical practice (GCP),departmental proceduresandregulation.Deputisingforclinicalpharmacist atNorthwest MedicineInformation and MHRA Yellow Card meetings.

1. Participatingin thedevelopmentofpolicies and procedures,protocolsandtheserviceoverall.
