To support an expansion of chemotherapy services at the NNUH we have received new funding for our Aseptics department to enable us to increase capacity. We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Aseptic Services Technician to join our large and busy pharmacy aseptic team. Pharmacy Technicians and Science Manufacturing technicians are vital members of the pharmacy aseptic team who work closely with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Assistants and with other staff within the Pharmacy and Trust. The main aspects of this role are: o Performing pre-manufacture checks on items waiting to be preparedo Generation and checking of worksheetso Aseptic manufacture of productso Transfer decontamination and cleaningo Training of new staff in the unit

You should be dedicated, flexible and able to work in a high pressured, busy and demanding working environment. You will need to be enthusiastic, have excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in developing your skills and knowledge. You will be expected to use a number of computer-based systems and, therefore, will have good IT skills.

The Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital is a modern forward thinking large teaching hospital employing 10,000 staff & offering a full medical service to a population of over 570,000. The Pharmacy Department provides a fully comprehensive pharmaceutical service across the Trust & to a number of external community units. We are a large & very busy department with over 180 members of staff including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants, admin clerical staff & apprentices. There are many varied roles & we all work as a team to provide the different functions & services whilst maintaining a high level of patient care. Functions of the Pharmacy Department include the ordering, receipt & supply of medicines to wards & departments throughout the Trust/external units. This includes dispensing for inpatients, outpatients, community units & supplying ward stocks averaging around 2,500 items a day. Wards & external units are provided with a clinical service with pharmacists & pharmacy technicians an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. The pharmacy provides Aseptic Services such as the preparation & supply of chemotherapy & other sterile products.
