As a local charity of 96 years' service, we are proud of our history. We offer a diverse range of support for residents of Liverpool and Sefton over the age of 50. Whether that be from project work, companionship or in our nursing home, we approach it with the same level of enthusiasm and commitment. We are now very excited to announce that we have a vacancy for a Philanthropy Lead and are looking for that special person who can help raise essential funds to support the organisation. As Philanthropy Lead you will play an instrumental role in raising essential funds to support the organisation's pioneering role supporting Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton maximising income by engaging, managing, and inspiring funders by writing compelling and persuasive narrative to secure income from Trusts, Foundations, Corporations and Statutory Bodies for Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton for key projects and any newly identified projects. Ensuring the continued strength of the prospect pipeline by identifying new funding opportunities with trusts and foundations. Developing and delivering tailored solicitations and stewardship plans, proactively improving knowledge capturing an understanding of supporters through relationship building.

MAIN PURPOSES OF THE ROLE:

Lead on the trusts, grants, foundations, and statutory bodies in line with the wider organisational strategy and fundraising. Including securing five and six figure multi year funding. Writing business cases to attract funding from trusts, grants, foundations, and statutory sources.

Create, manage, and deliver a pipeline of potential donors through robust and regular research of funding opportunities, sending the right application to the right funders, at the right time. Ensure that donors are truly the right prospects for our charity and prioritise the best ones to approach. Confident in picking up the phone, talking to people you don't know and asking pertinent questions to achieve an annual income target.

Account manage and steward existing trust and statutory donors, including sending applications, written reports/ updates invitations to visit and managing income.

Collaborate with service delivery teams and members of the SMT to create compelling funding proposals that articulate the problem we are solving, presenting evidence, establishing credibility, describing the difference the funding will make, and inspiring donors to take action to bring about change.

Attendance at supporter events ensuring all supporters have a positive experience of engaging with the charity and strong relationships are maintained.

Keeping up to date with knowledge of the current UK Trusts and Foundation fundraising environment. Implementing effective strategies for securing core costs and project funding.

Work with the finance team and service leads to create accurate project budgets and ensure secured income is spent in compliance with funding agreements.

Recording all trust and statutory data on the fundraising database and running reports to track income and trends. Keeping records of secured and received income and writing reports as required for the SMT and Board of Trustees meetings.
