Base Site: Leighton Hospital - This role includes covering ward round services, as well as cover at all community site locations.
North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service provide Phlebotomy services at multiple venues including: Macclesfield District General Hospital , Knutsford Community Hospital , Congleton War memorial hospital, Victoria Infirmary Northiwch and all GP direct access locations . The successful applicant will be asked to cover at all service locations, should the business require it.
The post holder is required for the collection of venous blood samples for pathological analysis.
The post holder will be required to work independently and as part of a team when required.
They will be asked to liaise with other health care professionals, clinicians, laboratory staff, patients and/or their representatives, both in person and over the telephone.
The role involves handling biological samples that may contain pathogenic micro-organisms; therefore, ensuring that all procedures are adhered to when undertaking blood sampling according to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and the policies and procedures of the department, especially in relation to Health & Safety and Quality.
The post holder must be able to support the department in multiple venues, when required.

We are looking for a confident and well-presented individual to join our phlebotomy team. The collection of quality blood samples from patients is a vital stage in many medical investigations. The successful applicants must enjoy working with people and possess good communication skills.
Based at Leighton Hospital the successful applicant will be expected to work at the community centres as well as our community sites around cheshire. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail is important along with basic keyboard skills and applicants should enjoy the challenge of working in a fast pace patient environment.
