Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join CDDFT as a Phlebomist. To work as an independent practitioner, providing blood sampling procedures at the request of medical, surgical and nursing staff across all directorates in the Trust.

The successful candidate would be required to work flexibly and may be required to work at other sites within the Trust as directed by service need., The post holder will work as part of a team based within the Acute Intervention Team.

To carry out all procedures safely and maintain high standards of care at all times

Take blood from a range of different patient groups including acutely unwell and elderly patients.

Adhere to high standards of cleanliness with strict regard for infection control procedures. Adhering to Trust Policy Guidelines for the Management of Venepuncture.

Be able to communicate with the multi-disciplinary team and be committed to flexible and supportive team working.

Ensure patients are received in a professional, understanding and efficient manner and are treated safely and courteously

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
