The University Hospital of North Midlands, Mid Cheshire and East Cheshire NHS Trusts are working collaboratively to form a Pathology network in line with a NHSI directive.
This post is advertised for current employees of University Hospital of North Midlands, Mid Cheshire and East Cheshire NHS Trusts only. We will not consider applications from outside the trust.
We are looking for a confident, reliable and well presented individual to join our phlebotomy team.
The collection of quality blood samples from patients is a vital stage in many medical investigations.
We offer a phlebotomy service in a range of locations across North Midlands including Royal Stoke Hospital, County Hospital, community walk-in centres and community bookable clinics., Based at County Hospital, the successful applicant will be an integral part of the phlebotomy rota and expected to provide day to day supervision of the phlebotomy team in all of the above locations. You will also be expected to deputise for the Phlebotomy Manager when necessary., It is a requirement of your role that you have access to a vehicle for work purposes, which must be suitable for travelling to community phlebotomy clinics and transporting samples back to the hospital premises. It is your responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is insured for class 1 business use and for the transportation of pathology samples. Expenses will be paid in accordance with Trust policy when you use your vehicle for work purposes.
Hours of work are
Monday - Sunday
3 x 8.5 hour shifts
1 x 5.5 hour shift

Experience in all phlebotomy techniques is essential. Previous supervisory experience would be considered an advantage.
The successful applicant must enjoy working with people and possess good communication skills. Attention to detail is important along with basic key board skills.
