Full Job Description

Use your PHP programming knowledge in this interesting and varied role. Join our friendly software development and IT technical team and help to support and maintain our ecommerce website and other web-based systems. Enjoy problem solving, designing bespoke solutions and developing API integrations that will have a significant impact on business efficiency. Experience of migration from PHP 7 to PHP 8, testing methodologies and payment integrations would be particularly helpful.

You'll have a wide remit, working with the IT team, Managing Director and heads of departments, to support and create bespoke software solutions. You will work closely with our 3rd party Magento Development Agency to scope and test improvements to our international e-commerce websites.

In addition, you will be working closely with our Marketing, Customer Services and Production Departments to ensure we provide the very best possible user experience. A logical thinker, with high levels of attention to detail, the ideal candidate will be a highly competent software developer, with strong analytical skills.

The role is based at our head office in Alfreton Derbyshire (within easy reach of the Peak District), combined with some working from home as necessary.

· PHP 7 & PHP 8 experience (minimum 5 years), plus MySQL database management and design knowledge

· API Integrations

· Testing methodologies of both unit testing and end to end testing

· LAMP stack

DESIRABLE requirements:

· Ecommerce principals and best practice

· Magento 2
