PHP Software Engineer (PIM)

The PHP Software Engineer (PIM) is responsible for t he development of our Product Information Management platform, ensuring high-quality software delivery that serves high volume and high - quality product data to our e-commerce platform and our customers . This position reports to the Direction of Applications and Automation and is part of the Data and Analytics Team located in Cambridge UK and will be on-site at least 3 days per week . • Develop, test and maintain efficient and reliable changes to the PIM application using industry best practices
• Drive continuous improvement and seek out efficiencies and functional enhancements, delivering proofs of concept where necessary to validate
• Understand the impact of changes in PIM on related platforms and integrations
• Support the offshore team to maintain and improve stability and technical reliability of PIM
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues and bugs in a timely manner
The essential requirements of the job include


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Proven experience as a PHP developer or similar role with a track record of delivering complex PHP projects
• Excellent knowledge of PHP frameworks such as Symfony
• Proficient in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS and Javascript
• Experience with database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL or MongoDB
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
• Integration technologies such as MuleSoft and Kafka
• Working in an agile development environment
• Working in a scientific data management capacity (preferably e-commerce environment) or life science experience in general
