Physical Health Assistant

This is a newly created, specialist role as a Physical Health Assistant within the nursing physical health team at Elysium Healthcare's brain injury services. The role involves combining pre-existing mental and physical health skills to promote health and wellbeing to service users, building and maintaining positive working relationships with local healthcare providers., As a Physical Health Assistant, you will be responsible for providing and undertaking a wide range of physical health monitoring, supporting colleagues with physical health assessments, working collaboratively with primary health to develop and maintain links with GP practices and other physical health departments, monitoring and managing PPE compliance and medical supplies, and maintaining physical health dashboards. You will also be required to undertake additional training to support your role, such as phlebotomy, assistant practitioner, factor administration, and ECGs. Additionally, you will ensure that the people we support have access to relevant appointments and screening, work with registered nurses to keep hospital passports and health action plans up to date, maintain clinical records, support the nursing team in monitoring and maintaining medical emergency equipment, and promote physical health initiatives to healthcare professionals and other agencies.
