Full Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our growing department as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.
Our service is well respected, and we have developed strong relationships with local GP practices, Orthopaedic and Rheumatology consultants, midwives as well as other healthcare professionals. Patients are able to self refer to our service and we have a growing number of First Contact Physiotherapists (FCP), within the GP practices, who refer also patients to us.
You would be joining a uniquely friendly and supportive team of over 20 full and part time clinicians including Physiotherapists, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners (APP), Physiotherapy Assistants and Administrative staff.
Learning and personal development is strongly encouraged and supported. Our well-organised In-Service Training program includes monthly departmental IST, 1:1 supervision, journal club, and subsidised places on external courses. In addition, peer support and watched assessments are actively encouraged in order to boost patient care and facilitate learning. Our Clinical Specialists and our Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners are easily accessible for support with patient assessment and management as required., We are part of a Wiltshire-wide network of physiotherapists allowing opportunities to work, or transfer to one of our other physiotherapy departments.
Candidates should be able to solid assessment and clinical reasoning skills, as well as sound knowledge of evidence-based physiotherapy interventions for common MSK conditions. Good communication skills are essential as the position will require you to work with a variety of people in a fast-paced environment that frequently presents interesting and challenging situations. We are looking for enthusiastic people who are ready to learn and develop.
On joining our team, the successful candidate will build up an interesting and varied musculoskeletal and orthopaedic caseload. Depending on your experience and clinical interest you will have the opportunity to be involved in other specialities such as hydrotherapy, hand therapy, antenatal and amputees. You will be given responsibilities and training that reflect your current level of practice and then encouraged to manage a larger, more complex caseload as your skills are tested and improve over time. We run a variety of classes, which you may choose to be involved in. These classes include: Escape Pain, Upper Limb, Lower Limb, Total Knee Replacement, Hydrotherapy, Hand, Antenatal, Amputee, Back and Activate Your Back.
