Please read this in conjunction with the main job description. This is not intended to replace the person specification but specify skills required in relation to the role within this specialist area of Mental Health Physiotherapy.
We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Chartered and State Registered Physiotherapist to work in this specialist field of Physiotherapy. You should have a good broad range and knowledge of Physiotherapy techniques, with a special interest and evidence of previously working with a Physiotherapy team within Mental Health or similar type of clinical setting where professional crossover can be achieved.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a positive innovative approach to service development and have a commitment to multi-disciplinary team working/skill sharing. You will work in partnership with people with a mental health diagnosis and their carers, using effective communication skills in a variety of settings.
Funded post-graduate education linked to CPD, personal development and service provision is available to encourage the development of a clinically effective service., Experience of working successfully with service users family and carers in successful delivery of treatment plans
Skills in range of appropriate standardised and informal assessments
Experience of Multi-disciplinary team work
Awareness of and adherence to the CSP Standards of Good Physiotherapy Practice
Ability to use IT system
Ability to establish a rapport with service users
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Time management skills
Experience in developing and providing client-centred, goal-orientated treatment plans to meet the specific needs of service user.
