Full Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic physiotherapist to join the Liverpool Ventilation Service based at Aintree Hospital. Working alongside existing senior physiotherapists, you will work in a senior role, providing expert assessment and treatment for patients requiring ventilation. The role is across the service and may require sessions in inpatient, outpatient, community, and other hospital settings. Duties include independent commencement, and support of patients on acute and long-term non-invasive ventilation (NIV). Advanced secretion management skills are essential, including assessment, use of manual and mechanical cough augmentation. In addition, management of patients in other hospitals, including complex long term invasively ventilated patients may be required. This will include tracheostomy management, training, and discharge planning. The physiotherapists work as part of the wider Therapies service. There is a requirement to participate in extended hours, on-call and weekend working duties,
- Undertake assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations using advanced clinical reasoning skills.
- Clinically diagnose and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
- Effectively communicate with patients, carers, and other health care professionals; this includes working across organisational boundaries.
- Deliver specialist education in long term ventilation to patients, carers, and other professionals as part of a commitment to local, regional, and national education programmes.
- Manage the caseload and prioritise patients as appropriate.
- Work closely with other members of the team in the multi-disciplinary service.
- Maintain and build upon current knowledge of evidence-based practice, developing a highly specialised knowledge of conditions and treatment.

Bank posts require upfront payment. DBS applications submitted from 2nd December will be subject to the new DBS fee of £26.50 (standard) and £54.50 (Enhanced). - B Sc or Grad. Diploma in Physiotherapy
- Current registration with HCPC
- Documented evidence of C.P.D. Desirable criteria
- Attended clinical supervisors course
- Completed recognised post-graduate courses in relevant rehabilitation topics, Significant post-graduate physiotherapy experience
- Demonstrable relevant experience at Senior II level, including at least one year in UK National Health Service
- Experience in supervision and training of juniors, assistants and students., Evidence of service development and experience of implementing change
- Evidence of relevant post graduate development and training Desirable criteria
- Involvement in audit and research, Evidence of organisational skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Evidence of leadership skills Desirable criteria
- Relevant introductory courses in management skills
