Full Job Description

The children's (paediatric) physiotherapy team works with babies, children and young people from 0-19 years who may have developmental, neurological, neuromuscular, or musculoskeletal difficulties.
We provide specialist assessment and a range of interventions and treatments which help children with physical difficulties.
Our aims are to:
+ Give children the chance to reach their full potential
+ Maximise their function and independence
+ Promote normal movement
+ Prevent or limit contractures (when muscles, tendons or joints tighten or shorten) and deformity
+ Improve quality of life.
We take a holistic approach and work closely with parents and other health and education professionals.
We also work closely with our adult service to help create a smooth shift from children to adult services through our transition pathway.
Who is this service for? Children and young people from the age of 0 to 19 living in the north of the county. This includes Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire.
We are looking for a Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner with a passion for high quality care to work within our Children's Physiotherapy Team working in the Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough and East Northants area, The post holder is expected to be responsible for providing high quality assessment and treatment to children within a competency defined patient group and different settings. The role also includes organising and running of specialist clinics and follow ups, supporting and mentoring other Physiotherapy Assistants and working closely with qualified Physiotherapists and members of the MDT.
As a Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner you will
+ Manage a small caseload of children of varying conditions to include completing follow up appointments, treatment blocks and teaching carers or care givers programmes.
+ Be accountable for the delivery of care whilst being fully supported by your supervisor and clinical team
+ Work jointly with other members of the Paediatric Physiotherapy Service
+ Utilise technology to enable you to update records as you go
+ Organise and deliver group treatment sessions
+ This post will involve community and lone working in varying settings
+ Complete service defined competencies, Applications will be transferred to the TRAC system, by completing an application you are giving authorisation for the transfer of your data.
