A rare opportunity has arisen, and the Physiotherapy department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is currently seeking to recruit to Band 2 Physiotherapy Assistant on permanent contract within the Parkinson's MDT team.

The hours of work are 26.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a commitment to working weekend days on a rota basis. Exact hours can be negotiated during the recruitment process.Physiotherapy assistant posts are key members of our team and all team members potentially will work across both Queens Medical Centre and City Hospital campus.

The role is to provide assistance and support to the Physiotherapists on the team as directed by registered therapists and to assist patients in their treatment programmes under guidance and supervision.. You will also assist with clerical, administrative and housekeeping tasks. You will need to have good people skills, be empathetic and a good team player. Full training will be provided for the right candidate., The role of the Physiotherapy assistant is to provide assistance and support within the Physiotherapy Services as directed by registered therapists.You will assist patients in their treatment programmes under the guidance and supervision of therapists which may include supervising exercises, assisting patients to walk, assisting the physiotherapists in the treatment of patients requiring more than 1 therapist, educating and supporting patients with functional activitiesThe role will also involve administration and housekeeping duties including cleaning equipment and stock control. This will necessitate basic computer literacy and organisational abilities.You will possess excellent communication skills and a willingness and ability to learn quickly and efficiently, with the support of registered staff.
