Full Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for experienced support worker to join the physiotherapy team working in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board within Hafan Y coed at University Hospital Llandough.

As part of the physiotherapy team you will be supporting the delivery of rehabilitation programmes to patients within both inpatient and gym based settings., Principally to provide a service, under the direction of a registered practitioner, to the individuals within a defined area. They will work with direction to assist the registered practitioner in clinical and administrative duties following specific competency-based training. They will independently carry out routine treatment programmes to both individuals and groups which have been delegated by a registered practitioner. They will progress within guidelines laid down by the registered practitioner. They will be responsible and accountable for these tasks.

We are looking for an individual who can can demonstrate both positive communication and practical skills in order to enable person centered care and to motivate and engage service users to reach their goals. A problem solving approach is key as well as flexibility, inclusivity and adaptability to the changing demands of the clinical area.

The individual must have had previous experience working within mental health or within a therapy role and have relevant experience of therapeutic interventions.

Your role will also include administrative tasks and contributing to the general running of the Physiotherapy Department., The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
