Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Physiotherapy Team at Furness General Hospital as a Technical Instructor. This role requires a dynamic and capable individual to work alongside physiotherapists to deliver rehabilitation to a wide range of patients across an acute hospital site. This is a rotational post that works in both acute and rehab settings, including orthopaedics, acute medicine, surgery, and elderly care., Duties will include providing face to face therapy to patients, data inputting, health & safety tasks and general admin duties. You will work as part of a clinical team to assist in the assessment and treatment of patients, be involved in MDT working and meetings.Support and training will be given from an experienced physiotherapy team, to develop your knowledge and skills in specific clinical areas. We have regular in-service training for all therapy technical instructors and actively encourage participation in this.To join the team you will need relevant experience in health or social care as a therapy or healthcare assistant or an NVQ level 3 in a subject relevant to therapy or rehabilitation (see person specification for details).

Weoperatefromthreemainhospitals-FurnessGeneralHospital(FGH)inBarrow,theRoyalLancasterInfirmary(RLI), andWestmorlandGeneralHospital(WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including MillomHospitalandGPPractice, QueenVictoriaHospitalinMorecambe,andUlverstonCommunityHealthCentre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
