Full Job Description

As a Technical Instructor in the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Team you will independently manage a caseload of non-complex patients on the Orthopaedic wards or day units. You will use skills to assess and treat conditions within a pre-determined guideline for the conditions, escalating to Physiotherapists any concerns or queries. You will have the opportunity to develop yourself and the service through time protected in job plan. You will be joining a dynamic team of Physiotherapists and support staff, as well as working closely with Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Support Workers, Administrators, and Medical staff.,

  • To work as part of the physiotherapy team delivering physiotherapy to patients within the speciality.
  • To be an active member of a multi-disciplinary team within the speciality.
  • To be responsible for own life long learning.

    Our staff oversee over 6,500 patient contacts every day, delivering high standards of healthcare from the following sites:
  • o Freeman Hospitalo Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI)o Health Innovation Neighbourhood (on the former Newcastle General Hospital and Centre for Ageing and Vitality site)o Newcastle Dental Hospitalo Newcastle Fertility Centreo Northern Centre for Cancer Care, North Cumbriao Northern Genetics Serviceo Cramlington Manor Walks These include a range of flagship services which deliver cutting-edge care (supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic services in both radiology and pathology) and are a catalyst for innovation to support pioneering clinical practice in the NHS. We also have offices at Regent Point in Gosforth and community sites.

    The role is currently fixed to end of March 2025, however there may be scope to extend this should funds become available. The hours for this role cover Wednesday to Saturday, with occasional twilight and Bank Holiday.
