An Exciting position has arisen to work as a Non -Registered Physiotherapy Technical Instructor to support the medical and rehabilitation wards at SMH on facilitating patient flow and discharges on Wards 3, 4 , 5, 6, 7, 15, 16, 17 & 18Duties will include;"Assessment of patients, including those with diverse presentation/multi pathologies" on the medical and surgical wards" Formulating and delivering individual physiotherapy treatment programme based on sound knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options using clinical reasoning and knowledge" on the medical and surgical wardsTo exhibit a sound knowledge of the amputee pathway and rehabilitation process of a patient following lower limb amputation, from the initial post operative phase, through to discharge."To have a comprehensive understanding of the of pathways and options availableTo work as an autonomous practitioner to conduct the assessment and treatment of patients, within the scope of the role, who may have acute
and/ or chronic presentations on the medical wards", To undertake an advanced technical instructor role under the supervision and guidance of the senior Physiotherapists including the planning, co-ordination, delivery, and evaluation of the physiotherapy service on the medical wards.

To work as an autonomous practitioner to conduct the assessment and treatment of patients, within the scope of the role, who may have acute and/ or chronic presentations on the medical wards. To determine diagnosis and develop suitable individualised treatment plans and document in associated records.

Undertake a significant clinical caseload to a high professional standard within the competencies set, Professional therapy codes of practise, CSP/HCPC guidelines and hospital guidelines.

To be involved in appropriate discharge planning, with a comprehensive understanding of the of pathways and options available to deliver timely discharges from physiotherapy.

To take a lead role in the induction, training and mentoring of therapy assistants in the acute medical team.

To participate in continuing professional and service development and contribute to organisational objectives.
