The Department: Business Development & Marketing Responsible to:

  • Senior Pitch Manager (EMEA Pitch Team Lead)
  • Business Development Director
  • Lawyers & Business Development Managers in EMEA seeking proposal management and pitch presentation support on significant multi-practice/multi-jurisdictional competitive bids
  • Hours 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexibility in accordance with the needs of the business. Responsibilities: The Pitch Manager will be involved in a wide variety of bid activities. The following list is illustrative:
  • Managing transactional and panel bid proposals to support lawyers in Mayer Brown offices in EMEA, in order to produce effective and targeted material and responses to client opportunities.
  • Providing support to business development and marketing colleagues engaged in the pursuit of opportunities.
  • Lead bid planning meetings to establish win themes, and establish a bid management plan.
  • Assist with reporting workflow of EMEA bid opportunities among proposal support colleagues.
  • Draft, edit and produce proposals, pitch presentations, placemats and other related material associated with the bid process. Work closely with EMEA lawyers and members of the BD&M team to ensure that relevant materials are high-quality, strategic, reflective of best practices in the marketplace and reinforces the Firm's brand messaging
  • Assist with the capturing and maintenance of proposal content repositories that support the development of proposal documents.

    Educated to a degree level or equivalent.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job Experience, skills and personal attributes:
  • Previous experience in a pitch team.
  • An understanding of the legal market and experience working in a partnership environment and internationally.
  • Knowledge of a number of market sectors is preferred.
  • A team player with an ability to work independently and under pressure, when facing multiple tasks and conflicting priorities.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • IT literate with a strength in research, analysis and writing.
  • Proactive with enthusiasm, confidence and energy.
  • Delivery / solution focused with a strong desire to meet the needs and requirements of internal clients under the pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and good people reading skills.
  • Attention to detail; tenacious and with a sense of responsibility and ownership.
