Are you an experienced Planner Buyer looking for your next opportunity? We are working on behalf of a leading manufacturer in Gloucestershire who is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join their team. As a Planner Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless coordination of materials and production schedules, while managing supplier relationships to meet business objectives.,

  • Develop and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products in line with customer demand and inventory targets
  • Liaise with suppliers to manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure materials are available to meet production deadlines
  • Monitor stock levels and manage inventory to optimize production efficiency and minimize waste
  • Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to forecast material requirements and adjust planning as necessary
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and implement contingency plans to avoid disruption
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, materials, and suppliers

    Proven experience in a similar Planner Buyer or Supply Chain role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of production planning, materials management, and inventory control
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships
  • Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems for planning and procurement
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
  • CIPS qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
