Full Job Description

  • Managing a varied caseload of planning applications and appeals.
  • Providing expert planning advice to clients, ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies.
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications, including technical reports, statements, and supporting documentation.
  • Liaising with local authorities, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Attending client meetings, planning committees, and public consultations when required.
  • Assisting with business development activities, including proposals and tender submissions.
  • Supporting junior members of the team with their professional development.

    Relevant degree qualification (RTPI accredited).
  • At least 2 years' experience (for Planner) or 4+ years' experience (for Senior Town Planner) in a similar planning role, ideally within the consultancy sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK planning law, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in preparing planning applications and appeals.
  • Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) (or working towards).
  • Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in the North West area or with local authorities in the region.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
