Full Job Description
- Managing a varied caseload comprising mainly of small-scale housing and commercial development proposals and pre-application enquiries across the District
- Assisting Senior Officers in the delivery of major strategic projects
- Prioritising and managing workloads to meet legislative timescales and deadlines.
Completion of an accredited RTPI degree in planning studies or RTPI accreditation through experience - Minimum 1 years' post-qualification experience in Local Authority Development Management or equivalent private sector practice
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and an ability to demonstrate political and professional sensitivity and awareness, Able to demonstrate a proactive attitude towards problem solving
- Highly organised, confident and conscientious
- The ability to maintain a positive working relationship with elected members
- Evidence of the capability to work alone or with minimal supervision to apply, weight and resolve material planning considerations appropriately
- Committed to customer service excellence
You will be required to apply a high level of attention to detail when carrying out this role, to support the delivery of the Development Management service at a professional level and show an appreciation of the contribution local government can make to the welfare of the people living, working, and visiting the district.
