Full Job Description

  • Managing a varied caseload comprising mainly of small-scale housing and commercial development proposals and pre-application enquiries across the District

  • Assisting Senior Officers in the delivery of major strategic projects

  • Prioritising and managing workloads to meet legislative timescales and deadlines.

    Completion of an accredited RTPI degree in planning studies or RTPI accreditation through experience

  • Minimum 1 years' post-qualification experience in Local Authority Development Management or equivalent private sector practice

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and an ability to demonstrate political and professional sensitivity and awareness, Able to demonstrate a proactive attitude towards problem solving

  • Highly organised, confident and conscientious

  • The ability to maintain a positive working relationship with elected members

  • Evidence of the capability to work alone or with minimal supervision to apply, weight and resolve material planning considerations appropriately

  • Committed to customer service excellence
