An opportunity in planning to work as a Planning Officer within the Dudley Planning Development Management Team has arisen.,

  • Planning Services operate an agile working environment and offers flexible working time with the ability to accrue flexi-time leave.

  • Leave entitlement of 29 days, rising by a 4 further days after 5 years continuous service.

  • Season tickets for car parking facilities are provided along with mileage allowance.

  • The service offers a supportive environment with the ability to experience a wide variety of work streams and application types within an experienced and diverse team. Continued professional development is a strong part of the planning services ethos and is actively encouraged.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who has excellent negotiation and communication skills as well as a flair for problem solving.


  • More specifically, the successful candidate will handle a wide and varied caseload of applications, pre-apps and appeals. You should have a RTPI accredited degree or a degree in a related subject and be working towards, or eligible for, licentiate or full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute as well as experience of working within a busy Development Management environment either within the public or private sector.

    Dudley is considered the historic capital of the Black Country. An area with a rich heritage, located in close proximity to many towns and cities as well as extensive greenbelt, making it the perfect place to work and live.
