Full Job Description

As a Plans Reports Officer you will be responsible for the preparation if plans reports to support the registration of applications, capturing information to be readily reused during the registration process. Handling both telephone and email enquiries, while providing professional services and advice to both internal and external customers., The main duties of the role relate to the provision of reports and associated services to customers, whilst taking a pro-active role in the delivery of service standards and continuous improvement. Reports Enquiries • Processing requests for plans reports via the online portal within the published service standards. • Utilising the in-house mapping system to ascertain whether the subjects have been registered or are affected by a registered interest and if boundaries identified coincide with those on the Ordnance Map. • Preparing reports, mapping any required references as appropriate. • Confirming the position to the customer using the published pro forma answers and providing appropriate additional information. • Corresponding with customers when unclear either of the meaning or implications of a report or resolving problems in requesting reports. • Capturing pre-registration information within a registration ready Capture Once index. Other Accountabilities: • Provide clear and concise information to customers and where possible concluding enquiry at first contact, minimising the need for follow up. • Referring enquiries and requests to team leader/plans referral officer as required with recommendations, where appropriate. • Sharing knowledge and experience with reports team colleagues. • Contribute effectively to the continuous improvement of reports services., • Answers on how you meet the Competencies, including the technical/experience element for the role, (300 words maximum for each answer). Assessment process Stage one – Psychometric testing (Spatial Ability Test) Candidates will be invited to complete a Spatial Ability Test.     Experience of Ordnance Map interpretation, with the ability to interpret deed plans onto OS maps using digital mapping systems, or GIS software.
