Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for qualified plaster technician to join an established team covering services across three main sites, supporting a comprehensive range of orthopaedic and trauma speciality clinics.

The applicant should have a BOA certificate.

The post holder will be accountable for all aspects of care requiring plaster casts/splints/braces., Qualified plaster technician will carry out and supervise prescribed treatments, while demonstrating evidence based practice, and complying with the british ortopaedic association guidelines.

Provide casting and splinting support within clinic as requested while also giving support and advice to the patient and carers to enable optimum treatment and enable self care.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
