Carry out structural work using things such as rolled steel joists, columns, channels and angle bars etc. Work includes cranes, platforms, walkways, handrails, roof trusses.
Study sketches, diagrams or parts to be fabricated and determine the operations to be performed and the materials required.
Template making and pattern development.
Multi-skilled in the use of heavy machines (such as Radial arm drills, bending machines, press brake machines etc.), oxy-fuel cutting equipment and welding equipment.
Setting out at sites using dumpy levels and theodolites, producing level and vertical datum points prior to the fabrication.
Lay out, position, align and otherwise set pieces in place preparatory to welding and measure dimensions.
Clean and degrease parts to be welded using wire brushes, grinders or solvent.
Clean and maintain material and tools.
Requisition materials and tools required and inspect them for suitability and conformity to specification.
Carry out tasks as per Bilfinger and/or client requirement, only if deemed competent to do so.
