Full Job Description

As a Platform Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy for the organization's enterprise architecture, with a strong focus on microservices, multi-cloud capabilities, and seamless integration with API and tooling strategies. You will be leading the future definition of the Vodafone platform architecture strategy, and you will have the opportunity to shape it using modern software architecture patterns. This role is strategic, guiding the organization through complex architectural decisions, ensuring alignment with business goals, and fostering innovation across the enterprise.

This position is a key member of the Global Strategy & Architecture team: for Digital & IT transformation to be successful in an organization, you need buy-in from different teams and layers across the company, including business and technology executives, architecture, development and operations and you will need to apply your outstanding stakeholder management in order to influence at all levels of the organisation.

What will you be doing?

-Establish a microservice architecture strategy and roadmap, setting the direction for the next few years, including adoption plans, application design, management and monitoring.
-Ensure seamless integration with the API and tooling strategies, aligned with the company's business objectives
-Drive strategic programs and big bet initiatives across the group by developing and promoting API-first approach
-Research and evaluate emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in integration and platform architecture. Make strategic recommendations for technology adoption and integration, ensuring they align with the organisation's goals.
-Establish and enforce governance frameworks, architectural best practices, and development methodologies.
-Be one of the lead members of our Architecture Guilds, encouraging collaboration, coaching & craftsmanship.
-Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, as well as Group and local technology leads.
-Contribute to leadership to across the group including Digital & IT domain by establishing best practices, design patterns leveraging integration frameworks
-Lead and drive Global RFx's for technologies within integration domain working with commercial, business & technical stakeholder across the group.

Expert Technical knowledge is key for this role including microservice, serverless architecture and Rest APIs e.g. TMForum Open API standard, ESB, API management, event stream among other integration domain technologies
-Deep Understanding of software architecture, hosting and API design especially when utilised with Node.js and Springboot.
-Capability to articulate and define complex architectures in a simple way to a diverse range of business and technology stakeholders, therefore excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills are a must
-Sound overall knowledge and ability to learn of applications, integration, and data architecture methodologies and industry best practices e.g. TOGAF, SAFe, OpenGroup IT4IT, TMForum Open Digital Architecture, Open API, API technologies
-Experience designing and building applications using any microservice based framework e.g.Spring, Quarkys, framework, Node.js
-A good understanding of the AWS or equivalent Well Architected Framework pillars and guidelines, particularly regarding application security, performance & scalability, solution maintainability & cost management.
-CI/CD & DevOps practices, configuring tools "as-code";
-SAFe Agile methods including use of associated collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, ADO etc)
-Strong interest in Generative AI adoption
