In our cybersecurity team you'll be helping to safeguard the financial system on which millions of people depend.

You'll be making banking more secure by designing, implementing, and operating controls to manage cybersecurity risk. You'll help define HSBC Group cyber security standards, deliver Global Security Operations ad Threat management services, provide round-the-clock monitoring and security incident response services, and oversee Network/Application/Infrastructure Security. The work you do will provid3e assurance of the adequacy and effectiveness of security controls to Business Risk Owners.

The Platform Operations Senior Manager will lead the CSA Operations Team, supporting a global team of data technology professionals by delivering and operating a cloud-based data lake and analytics platform.

The position is a senior technical, hands-on delivery and team management role, requiring knowledge of Azure cloud, security & endpoint administration, platform operations and production support.

The Platform Operations Senior Manager role is a key technical role within the department, leading the team responsible for service management, user & identity management, production support and security operations. Azure-specific knowledge is preferred for the role, and candidates do not need to be experts in the Cybersecurity domain.,

  • Technical leadership of the Platform Operations team, defining the approach and implementation of the identity & access management, end user compute environment, operational monitoring, and patching

  • Day to day management of the Platform Operations team, including assigning and monitoring tasks, reporting progress and status, and handling escalations.

  • Managing the first line support for user requests and incident triage

  • Acting as second line support for escalation of complex issues from your team

  • Managing the software licensing for the Azure platform and applications

  • Ensuring reliable and resilient services that comply with applicable controls and regulations, meet stakeholder functional and non-functional requirements, and operate within cybersecurity's risk, cost, and quality tolerances.

  • Creating and maintaining documentation for users and support teams, including incident response playbooks and standard operating procedures

    To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:


  • Hands-on experience administering Azure Entra ID and PIM

  • Hands-on experience of cloud monitoring & security management using Azure Sentinel and Log Analytics

  • Hands-on experience of endpoint & application management using Intune

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Azure networking, PowerBI, PaaS service management

  • Experience with image build & management on both Linux and Windows Server platforms

  • Experience managing a first line support team

  • Ability to manage incidents and requests through to resolution

  • Experience defining support processes, workflows and playbooks

  • Empathetic customer & stakeholder management
