As a PMLD teacher you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, inclusive teaching for a class of students who are across Key Stage 3-5. This will include maintenance of all subject curriculum related documentation, including student progress, attainment and accreditation. You will work with students at St George's School and within the community, with complex medical and behavioural challenges, alongside PMLD/ASC diagnosis. You will also be required to support individuals requiring complex medical interventions and will therefore be required to undertake/update specialist training as necessary. You will develop your practice to effectively meet the needs of our students, supporting them to progress in line with school expectations, or exceed them with additional support. You will develop positive working relationships, sharing good practice across school, and take a lead in identifying areas for your own professional development through your reflective practice. We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and expect all our staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for the successful applicant.

  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of personal resilience
  • A dynamic, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher who can work creatively to enhance the education of students with a range of physical, sensory and learning difficulties as they journey through to adulthood.
  • Relevant experience of working with students who have High Needs/SEND in a specialist area, such as SEMH, Medical, Autism, and complex challenging behaviour.
