Full Job Description
As a PMRT lead you will arrange and facilitate external review meetings and complete the PMRT tool. You will provide a monthly and quarterly report for WCH with robust action planning. You will ensure compliance with completion of MBRRACE data. You will need to work closely with the education team including consultant midwives and PDMs to ensure learning is embedded in everyday clinical practice. You will evaluate and audit if shared learning has taken place with the audit midwife and education team and ensure there is triangulation of all findings from reports (MNSI, PMRT and the NHSI Maternity and safety collaborative) related to stillbirths and late fetal losses.
The successful post holder will work within the Governance team to monitor compliance with Each Baby Counts. They will provide advice to the Associate Director of Midwifery on standardised reporting, investigation, and monitoring system for bereavement care, that provides assurance of quality to the board. The post holder will lead the systems and processes for standardising the surveillance and outcome to inform overall service development and transformation that provides assurance of quality.
The post holder will be responsible for the completion of the Perinatal Mortality Review Tool (PMRT) for all eligible stillbirths and neonatal deaths, will contribute to collating the papers for a multi-disciplinary review of PMRT cases and proceed to finally publishing those cases thereafter if needed, to assist the governance team in collating and monitoring issues which arise from all PMRT cases (stillbirths and neonatal deaths) until the agreed actions have been implemented.
Although this role is based at Newham hospital it also involves facilitating teaching at our sister sites within Barts health.
